Other people who went through chemo told me it would grow back very curly but after about a year, it would probably be straighter than it was before it fell out. They were right.
The top picture is my hair right now. The middle is from 2011, one year after chemo. The bottom is from 2010, right before I started chemo.
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it's not as curly as before chemo. The bounce is gone, along with the red undertones and the shine. It's also dryer and more brittle.
Between the neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and stiff and aching joints, I keep asking myself if chemo was worth it. If I make it to 5 years without a recurrence, maybe I'll be glad I did it.
