We've all turned our backs on God, that's what. If we all came to Jesus, there would be no more wars or famine or earthquakes or tornadoes. There'd be no more of those damned homosexuals either because God would cure them.
That's what I had to listen to while I was waiting at the mental health center this morning. This guy was bragging that he just graduated from college with an AA in ministry. The woman sitting next to him told how she'll never see her mother or her sister or her brother again because they all refused to accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior, even though they knew they were dying, even though she tried as hard as she could right up till the end to convert them. But her daddy knew Jesus so she'll see him in heaven.
Then they started talking about a local evangelical preacher who managed to take home a couple hundred thousand dollars a year even though the church couldn't pay its bills. He took out several million dollars in loans to build a megachurch but then those heathen creditors sued him and the demons in the media turned everyone against him. But we should all turn back to Pastor X because he's a sinner like everyone else but he knows God. He preaches The Word. (Never mind that he's a thief who's only interested in lining his own pockets) because he is a righteous man.
There was more bitching and bemoaning over all the haters who are destroying the world because they don't know Jesus. But by then, I was in danger of biting my tongue in half so I tuned them out.
