Oh my, what delicate sensibilities we have

This weekend, Cindy McCain whined that she's offended people think they're rich. Now the McCain campaign says the scrutiny their new sweetheart Sarah Palin has been getting his "offensive." The internet has been rife with all kinds of crazy rumors and the mainstream media is finally doing their job - investigating these rumors and reporting on which ones are true and which ones aren't.

Welcome to the real world, Mr. and Mrs. McCain. Your right wing cronies have been spreading false rumors about the Obamas for months. Up until, the media has been letting you off pretty much scotfree. Not anymore. Hopefully.

McCain has resorted to using Bush's tactics. He no longer chats up the media on the "Straight Talk" Express and he's stopped giving news conferences. Instead, he just reads short statements and then turns his back and walks away.

That worked okay for Bush for awhile, but you see where his popularity rating is now. McCain needs to remember he's not just snubbing the press - he's snubbing voters too.

The real problem couldn't possibly be that every time he spoke off the cuff he got himself in trouble. He kept contradicting was his own campaign was saying. And he forgot silly little details like how many houses he owns.

No, instead, it's better to blame it on the "liberal" media. You know, the media that's owned by those radical corporate giants like GE.

I didn't hear him complaining when Fox News kept showing pictures of Obama during his trip to Kenya and talking about his childhood in Indonesia, speculating that he's an undercover Muslim/terrorist.

Well now it's your turn, Gramps.

By the way, yesterday Palin announced that her 17 year old daughter Bristol is 5 months pregnant now, so she can't possibly be the mother of Palin's youngest son. Time reports that Bristol's current pregnancy was well known back home in Wasilla.

The AP points out that McCain fought against programs to prevent teen pregnancy, but voted in favor of teenagers being forced to stay in school in order to get public assistance. He voted against a bill that would require insurance companies who pay for Viagra to also pay for contraceptives. Palin opposed sex ed programs in Alaska.

On message boards, a lot of conservative and moderate women are saying they're going to vote for Palin because "she's just like me."

I want to reply: "Do you think YOU are qualified to be president? Do you have enough experience to be commander in chief?"
