Dr. Drew Pinsky, who bills himself as a sex doctor, also runsa a high-priced rehab center in Pasadena. In the last 4 months, two patients in the chemical dependency unit died of drug overdoses. Another substance abuse patient died by hanging himself from a wooden beam.
Who leaves exposed wooden beams at a psychiatric facility? Where people are suicidal?
The day after the guy hanged himself, a 14 year old girl was raped by another patient, a 16 year old, while staff members and the rapist's probation officer were sleeping nearby.
WTF?
This is not the norm for psychiatric facilities. And here's where I think the problem lies:
... the hospital advertises on its website such amenities as a tennis court, swimming pool and manicured garden ... It recently created a deluxe treatment center, offering concierge service, a "personal healthcare attendant" and access to a flat-screen high-definition TV.
Yeah, because that's what addicts really need - to be pampered and indulged. It's not like they've ever had a problem with over-indulgence.
